Have I found Lord Lucan?

By Carolyn Hughes on Aug 14, 07 12:18 PM in

August is a strange month in PR, clients go on holiday, journalists go on holiday, contacts and acquaintances go on holiday.

Launches and events are few and far between as numbers are diminished owing to annual breaks – so it is normally a time of forward planning for me and a time when Easyjet beckons and my friends apartment in Majorca becomes to much of an offer to turn down.

I love Majorca, I live fifteen minutes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, am ALWAYS one of the last to check in (thank the Lord for Speedy Boarding now!) and it takes just over two hours to be in the sunshine clutching a gin and tonic.

This weekend I have come away for some sunshine and rest (but still managed to pack the laptop and the mobile). The Easyjet flight was an interesting one out here, thankfully no hen parties this week (those cowboy hats and t.shirts they insist on wearing always make me cringe!), but a very interesting group of guys, who professed to be coming out to play golf. I will show my backside in Lewis’s window if they play more than half a round as they were drinking doubles at 9am and claimed to have a course booked when they arrived.

The only place to be seen in C’an Pastilla, apart from on my friends boat, is Puro Beach – www.purobeach.com - a cool laid back beach club on the sea. We have been going since they opened a few years ago so are always very well looked after.

As always I bought the English papers on my way to the beach club to read on my lounger – and I could not help but be intrigued to read a double page spread about Lord Lucan, it was debating where he could be now… As I live and breathe as I looked up to take in the scenery, the boats, Palma, the sunshine, etc…. there in front of me for all the world was almost the exact reconstruction of what the papers thought Lord Lucan would look like today!

Where do you think he is? What do you think happened to Lord Lucan?

Ahhhhhhh back to the sunshine, and one more piece of ice in this G&T.

(Goodness, he is the double of Lord Lucan)
