Tour of Britain – Launch of the Liverpool Leg
E.ON – the global energy company – hosted a launch event to mark the 5th stage of The Tour of Britain cycle race at Sefton Park last week. Council Leader Cllr Warren Bradley, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Paul Clark and other VIP guests from the city’s professional and business community enjoyed some excellent corporate hospitality before watching E.ON Head of Corporate Sales, John Conoley, officially start the race.
He commented: “E.ON is delighted to be sponsoring The Tour of Britain - the country’s leading professional cycle race and our nation’s biggest live sporting event. It’s fantastic that Liverpool is taking part this year- especially in the city’s lead up to 2008.�
Guests were presented with eco-friendly inspired goodie bags made from 100% recycled cotton. To promote E.ON’s Intelligent Power Management campaign, the bags contained clever devices that show how much money electrical appliances cost to plug in and run, especially when left on stand-by
