Mikado
Crosby Gilbert & Sullivan Society are putting the final touches to their production of THE MIKADO which they will be performing at Crosby Civic Hall from Tuesday 29th January until Saturday 2nd February.
Herbert Howe offered his support for the production by sponsoring the wigs. T
he Mikado is easily the most popular of all the G & S operas with such well known pieces as: ‘Three little maids from school’; ‘I’ve got a little list’; and The Mikado’s own song ‘To let the punishment fit the crime’.
The Society’s chairman, Jim Whittle, playing the eponymous Emperor of Japan, says: ‘This years production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most popular piece promises to be spectacular. Both Marilyn Taylor and Brian Smith have really pulled out the stops to ensure that this is a fitting contribution to Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture’.
