Blake join Victoria Sharpe for an impromptu jamming session at the Living Room

We all have moments in our lives which we know were special…. And they are moments which we know will stay with us forever.

Last week Granada’s Paul Crone hosted a charity event at the Living Room in Victoria Street to raise funds for a charity of which he is a Patron – When you Wish Upon a Star!

Classical Boy Band, and Classical BRIT Award nominated,  BLAKE performed on the night and wowed an intimate audience of  100 people.

Massive thanks to City Talk's Phil Easton for working some magic and making it happen!!

In a world where nothing seems to be ‘free’ it was inspiring that BLAKE came up and performed TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE. A rarity nowadays when a ‘free’ performance normally comes with a big expense bill….. Not on this occasion the four gorgeous gentlemen really did do their bit for charity and were humble and a pleasure to meet….

OK so they are all gorgeous with voices that melt you – but here is the real surprise – they really are four of most lovely young men I have ever met . The night was rounded off with the usual raffle and auction – I seemed to acquired some signed Ringo Star memorabilia (Don’t ask!!!!!) – All in all almost £6k raised for the charity.

Now normally our night would have ended there – but here comes the ‘special moment’ I was talking about. The Lovely gentlemen stayed around after their set and when most of the guests had disappeared home… the band joined our resident Living Room artist Victoria Sharpe for an impromptu jamming session which really was something special.. They performed classics like Hey Jude, Let it Be and Summertime along with hits including Amy Winehouse’s Rehab. They must have sung for a couple of hours with literally 7 or 8 of us on stools around the piano. I think it must have been somewhere around 3am when I slipped and fell (I cant lie…. It was a drink induced fall)… but the huge bruise on the knee (and the pride) was worth it to be picked up by four of the nicest gentlemen I have met in a while. They told me it was an UPI (an unidentified party injury)…. Well all I know is my UPI is killing me today.

Blake are currently nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ in this years Classical BRIT Awards. PLEASE PLEASE HELP THEM TO WIN!!
