Zoe's Place ball

On Friday evening a May ball was held in the sumptuous surroundings of West Derby Estate Hall to raise money for Zoe's Place baby hospice. Sponsored by Liverpool law firm Morecrofts more than 100 people attended the event.

Guests were welcomed by the "Fab 4" on stilts and enjoyed a formal black tie dinner, followed by fund raising casino games, an auction, prize raffle and live entertainment.

First Family Entertainment this week launched a sensational '08 Pantomime at the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Liverpool First Lady Cilla Black will be playing the role of Fairy Godmother alongside Jennifer Ellison as Cinderella, and comedian and TV Les Dennis who is playing Buttons.

City Talk Presenter Peter Price and Roy Brandon are teaming up as the Ugly Sisters, while Ted Robbins completes the all-star cast as Baron Hardup.

The panto runs from 11th December to the 4th January, with tickets priced from £15 to £27.50. Cilla Black said that she is delighted to be performing again in Liverpool in 2008, which is her 45th year in showbusiness.

Last Week St. George's Hall was the prestigious venue for Everton's third annual End of Season Awards ceremony took.

Manager David Moyes and his first team squad were joined at the glittering affair by a whole host of legends from the Club's illustrious past and local businesses.

All were present to witness the awarding of a series of prizes to top performers and for notable achievements over the past season.

Joleon Lescott won the Player of the Season award as well as the Players' Player of the Season and Leon Osman won the award for Goal of the Season.
