Carley Stenson and Ricky Whittle (Hollyoaks)
Ricky Whittle and Carley Stenson really are one of the nicest showbiz couples you could wish to meet. No wonder Ricky looked so fabulous on the Paul O'Grady show last week - he had spent previous day with his gorgeous girlfriend Carley at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa, relaxing and enjoying some of their bespoke treatments. The Hotel and Spa is a regular venue for the Hollyoaks cast.

Following an enjoyable two course lunch, three speakers stepped up to the platform for their six minute pitch to the assembled audience. First up was Dean Greaves from Trident Training who outlined the funded training opportunities available to Merseyside companies. He emphasised the benefits for NVQs now offered with workplace learning and e-portfolio opportunities.
Andrea Walsh, Sales Manager for Thistle Hotels gave a brief AV presentation about the £850k refurbishment of the iconic Atlantic Tower Hotel, including meeting rooms, suits and new-look bedrooms. Finally, John Curwen from Freedom Business Coaching explained how Freedom aims to help business owners free themselves from the struggle of managing finances and time and aim to help them manage their business successfully.
Kim Joyce, Paul Skaife (Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Aintree University Hospital)
April is bowel cancer awareness month and in order to promote awareness about this very treatable illness, Consultant Colorrectal Surgeon Paul Skaife from Aintree University Hospital arranged a celebrity football match - which also highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, treatment and other oncological issues such as chemotherapy and radio therapy.
Relevant healthcare professionals, ranging from ward nurses to physiotherapists were also on hand to demonstrate the 'patient journey' for colorectal cancer and were on hand to answer any questions, and inform people of new developments, such as the national bowel cancer screening programme. There was a post event drinks reception at the Sir Thomas Hotel on Victoria Street.

Claire House Children's Hospice this week organised a ladies lunch at Panoramic Restaurant as part of their 10th Anniversary birthday celebrations.

The fundraising lunch saw a capacity crowd of 48 ladies from across the region join together to raise much needed cash for the amazing children's hospice in Willaston.
Andrew Collinge very kindly donated a whole years supply of hair care at Andrew Collinge, which helped to boost the amount raised on the day.

Last weeks Easter weekend proved to be a busy one for the city centre bars and restaurants with people taking full advantage of the extended break from work. Jenny Ellison was out with friends at the Living Room on Friday night looking stunning, relaxed and happy!

Gusto Albert Dock recently joined forces with Lifestyle Monthly magazine to host a reception to celebrate the Magazines first birthday and introduce their newly extended Pizza and Pasta menu to the stylish dockside bar and restaurant. Over 70 people came along to sample the new pizza delicacies. The extensive menu now offers a wide selection of authentically cooked pizza and pasta dishes, along with the trusted old favourites and a great selection of Seafood and Meat dishes.

The sell out Number One Concert on DVD was launched at Zelig's last week. The DVD documents the phenomenal charity concert which brought together a stellar line-up of Liverpool's finest talent, who performed songs from the city's world record breaking 52 number 1 hits. The concert managed to raise a staggering £80,000 for Liverpool charities. To mark the launch of the 'Number One Project DVD' a spectacular event was held at Zelig, Liverpool One last week. An array of stars from the original arena performed at the DVD launch covering their songs from the Number One Concert as well as their own hit singles
