Show Jumping at Chester Races

Zoe Bock, Events Organiser Cheshire Witches, Rob Bastow, General Manager, Blackhouse Grill - Chester

One of Chester's most stylish bars and restaurants the Blackhouse Grill in Newgate Street, hosted the Cheshire WITCHES inaugural fundraising lunch 'A Summer Lovin You' on Wednesday 17th June. Although the sun failed to shine outside, the summer themed lunch made up for the lack of summer rays as almost seventy of Chester's finest ladies came out to support the newly formed Cheshire WITCHES. The WITCHES - Women in Touch with Claire House - are a group of ladies living and working in and around the Chester area who have pledged to support Claire House Children's Hospice during it's 10th Birthday year in 2009, and then on an ongoing basis following the 10th birthday celebrations. Cheshire Witches are aiming to recruit as many members as possible across the Chester and Cheshire area to maximise the amount they raise for Claire House Children's Hospice.

Zoe Bock, Events Organiser for Cheshire Witches said "We are a organisation of business & professional ladies who have volunteered our time and effort into raising money for Claire House Childrens' Hospice. We get together once a month to organise events and functions around the Cheshire area. Our aim is to raise awareness about the sick children and their families to help raise as much money as we possibly can, to support them through their very difficult time. We hope to raise £15,000 by the end of 2009, with lots more events in the pipe line and another Blackhouse Grill lunch in the Autumn. We are committed to helping to make local children's lives better at a time when they, and their families, need it most"..

The ladies enjoyed summer cocktails along with a sumptuous three course lunch, whilst perusing a host of stands which would prepare you for summer. The ladies have a clear vision to support Claire House during the coming year and the Blackhouse Grill is delighted to have hosted the Cheshire Witches first lunch and we are looking forward to working with them again in the autumn".

Over 200 guests glitzed their way into the annual Pink & Sparkly party at the Floral Hall in the Waterfront suite on Friday evening, to be greeted by a pink and sparkly lamb banana which had been sprayed by Roy Llloyd of Southport!! The evening was once again organised by Claire Simonsen, Margaret Flynn, Adam Yaffe and Sandra Carney from Yaffe fusion art following the loss of Claire's father Mike Flynn to lung cancer in November 2006.
