Rachel Kehoe (ismarythere Mystery Shopping) organised an Independence Day themed event recently to raise funds for Claire House. The event was held at Hillbark Hotel (Wirral) with the room decked out in stars and stripes. Amazing table magic was provided by Nick Rushton, and music was provided by Simon Brown (pianist) and The Right Stuff (band). Fabulous auction prizes including the 'star prize' which was a meal for 6 cooked in your own home, with fine wines, donated by Paul Askew of the London Carriage Works, which raised £1,400.

Congratulations to Dr Nadine Mears who graduated last week with a bachelor dental surgery degree from the University of Liverpool. The Ceremony was held at the Philharmonic Hall and was followed with a family meal at 60 Hope Street. Nadine has not only managed to pass her degree and become a dentist, but she has also had two children whilst taking the degree. Well done to all of the graduates.

St. Helens Theatre Royal, recently showcased The Salon, one of the funniest new adult comedy plays around. The hilarious play, set in a hairdressing salon was written by Drew Quayle and directed Sylvie Gattrill and starred Juice FM's Leanne Campbell as Carol and Daniel O'Brien as Tony. Carol wants to find true love, TIA wants to be a pop star, Sheila wants a toyboy and gorgeous brute and gangster wannabe Tony, wants to add the salon to his growing criminal empire. It makes for none stop laughter and a thoroughly entertaining couple of hours.
