DO YOU HATE HAVING YOUR PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN? Yaffe Fusion Art have ALL THE ANSWERS/TIPS/ADVICE you need to LOVE THE CAMERA

Please welcome my GUEST BLOGGERS and thoroughly wonderful people Sandra Carney and Adam Yaffe from Yaffe Fusion Art!

Hi All,

Ok, so who hates having their picture taken? Everyone usually shouts
"Me!" whenever we ask!!!

We, Adam & Sandra, are the infamous duo from celebrity photographers
Yaffé Fusion Art. You've probably met us at some party or event or
launch, hey we go to the opening of an envelope!! Anywhere there's a
pop of a Champagne cork... you'll find us!!!!

But attending all these events, we've learnt a lot about how to pose
when someone's taking your snap for a newspaper or magazine... or even
Carolyn's blog!

We've all seen those embarrassing images with triple chins (never mind
the double one's!) big tummies, shiny faces and awkward grimaces!

But there's lots you can do to help not end up with a picture that you
want to burn, but to actually want to show your friends with pride!

First of all, your pose. If you are standing, never face the camera
directly, turn slightly away from the camera and lean your weight on
the leg furthest away and at the same time lean very slightly forward
from the waist. This will push your bum and your tum back and stretch
your neck a little instantly shedding pounds!

If you've got a glass of Champagne in your hands or even a handbag if
you're still waiting for a drink, then use that in both hands held
between your tummy and your hip that's closest to the camera. This
further helps to hide a portly waistline that you'd rather pretend
wasn't there!

NOW LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE THE ADVICE MAKES.......

If there are two of you, repeat the above, but mirror each other's
position so you are slightly turning into each other. Don't throw
your arms around your partner's neck and don't ever lean away from the
camera squashing your chin into your chest. People often do that when
a camera is close and invading personal space, especially when
laughing. Avoid this at all costs unless you want everyone to think
it was you that ate all the pies!

AND IF YOU ARE BEING PHOTOGRAPHED AS A COUPLE......

AND AFTER.....

If you are sitting down, it's a similar set of instructions. Don't
sit back and look like you've eaten a giant Chinese take-away, sit
forward on the edge of your seat, turn your body slightly away and
lean forward a bit. Tuck one foot behind the other and use a glass if
you have one as mentioned above.

Finally, the most important bit... expression! Everyone hates putting
on a fake smile for the camera. Some of us think we know how to do a
'camera face' on command, but they usually end up looking like they
are suffering from a mental disorder!!!

The only good expression, is a natural one. Have something that you
find personally very funny to think about. Maybe it's something one
of the kids does that makes you laugh, or perhaps as we do (big fans)
think about something Peter Kay says in his comedy routine. Whatever
it is, when your putting on a smile for the camera, if you're thinking
about something that is genuinely funny to you, your expression will
be believable and you'll be quite happy viewing it in print!

Over all, it's best not to think too much about it. You don't want to
lose sleep over it, or even miss an event out of fear of being
'papped' but just try our tips and you'll thank us for it later on!

You could always book in for a professional photo shoot at Yaffé
Fusion Art and we'll show you how to do it properly. Bring the whole
family and have something you'll be proud of for many years, plus it's
great fun for everyone!

Good luck!
